1. "A Game of Thrones" by George R. R. Martin

Such a great HBO series, but an even better book! I promise you that once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down.

2. "Milk and Honey" by Rupi Kaur

This new book is on the rise, as it is a huge tale of feminism. The short stories and images underline important lessons that all should read.

3. "The Catcher in the Rye" by J. D. Salinger

Once a classic, always a classic. I recommend reading this novel if you feel lost or want to see someone experiencing troubles. Holden Caulfield helped me in high school, and maybe he can help you with some difficult times.

4. "Howl's Moving Castle" by Diana Wynn Jones

I want to thank Diana personally, because without her book, one of my favorite movies wouldn't exist. This book is a thrilling fantasy with romance and adventure! It will bring joy to your holiday break and want you to read more pieces by Jones.

5. "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke

The first book of the trilogy, "Inkheart" is an intense fantasy novel with a great plot. It will certainly bring some amusement to your break!

6. "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner

All I can say is: so addicting! The plot of this series, especially this piece is awesome. It has great content and will have you reading by the fire all December!

7. " The Two Towers" by J. R. R. Tolkien

I am a "Lord of the Rings" nerd, no doubt. Yet, everyone has their favorites and this is definitely mine. So much chaos, war, and adventure takes place in this novel, making your holiday full of intrigue and the need to read more.

8. "Lord of the Flies" by William Goulding

Another classic! A short, but intense read. This book is great for the holidays because it revitalizes your thoughts about friends and family, as well as making you question society.

9. "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold

Chilling, addicting, and beautifully written. Though a scary thriller, I couldn't put this book down until I read 50 pages each night!

10. "The Martian" by Andy Weir

The movie doesn't amount to how amazing this book is! Full of comedy and adventure, "The Martian" will fill your break with science and humor, I promise.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
