Obviously there are the basic holidays like Halloween and Christmas that most people celebrate. But sometimes, usually on social media, you hear about weird, random holidays that you didn't know existed. So here's a list of quirky and random holidays for this upcoming week!1.
1. October 16th:
Boss's Day: Here's a good day to celebrate your boss and tell them how much you appreciate them and all they've done for you!
Dictionary Day: This is a day in celebration of the birthday of Noah Webster, considered the Father of the American Dictionary! This holiday encourages the celebration of literacy and the importance of dictionary use.
2. October 17:
National Pasta Day: Heres a day that all us Italians can really sink our teeth into! Grab your favorite pasta and use this as your excuse to eat a few extra carbs!
Wear Something Gaudy Day: I feel like this would be better suited as tacky day, but regardless, throw on your favorite goodwill outfit and strut your stuff!
3. October 18:
No Beard Day: I guess you're supposed to shave your face this day? Ladies, don't wear a fake beard and gentlemen, break out your razors and shaving cream!
4. October 19:
Evaluate Your Life Day: I think all of us college students can truly appreciate this holiday. This day was established to encourage everyone to take a step back and reflect upon their lives to make a positive change going forward. The year is almost over so hop to it!
5. October 20:
Brandied Fruit Day: So this is a fun one! Soak your favorite fruits in some brandy, kick back and enjoy!
6. October 21:
Babbling Day: I guess this is a day I'll be avoiding people on because it is a day to encourage people to speak their minds and talk about anything they want!
Count Your Buttons Day: There is no record of who created this holiday, so I guess count any buttons you have, and be confused with the rest of us!
National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day: Alright ladies, break out your Pinterest recipes and get to baking! I myself am not a fan of the pumpkin flavor, but I know everyone loves it and its a great way to welcome in the fall season!
