10 Obvious Items You Should Always Bring to the Beach

Throughout almost anyone's summer, the beach is always a definite destination at one point or another. Whether the beach is 10 feet away or 10 miles away, it's consistently a summer vacating spot. When going to the beach, there are a few items that seem to be practically necessities. So, despite being extremely obvious, I'm writing to list the 10 most needed items for a trip to the beach.

1. Bathing Suit

Whether or not you decide that you're going to take a dip in the water, wear/bring a bathing suit. You never want to be that person who has to stay behind with all of the bags and towels while everyone else goes swimming just because you decided not to wear a bathing suit.

2. Sunglasses

You're going to the beach to relax in the sun. Sometimes a baseball hat just doesn't do the trick. Make sure to bring sunglasses.

3. A Towel

Don't be that person who asks to share a towel after swimming because you forgot yours...C'mon.

4. Either a Frisbee or Football

If the clouds roll in and you decide laying down isn't going to cut it, be sure to have a backup plan. A frisbee or a football will surely to do trick.

5. An Umbrella

This isn't as much of a necessity as the others, but if you want some shade, bring one.

6. Sunscreen

Lather up. Just because you tan easily doesn't mean you're immune to getting a nice crisp burn.

7. A Lunch

If you're spending a day or afternoon at the beach, definitely bring something to eat.

8. A Speaker

Relaxing in the sun is nice, but relaxing in the sun while listening to music is better

9. Sandals or Boat Shoes

Do not wear sneakers.

10. A Friend

No one likes to be alone at the beach. Bring a friend.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
