It'll Get Done Eventually

10 Netflix Shows To Watch Instead Of Studying

It's hard to stay focused when you have one-hundred thoughts running through your head and twelve assignments/exams to do before the week is over. Studies have shown that for every 30-60 minutes of studying you should have a 30 minute break. This method supposedly improves memory and learning in those who apply it. So I figured, "Hmm. What better way to relax my tired brain, then to sit down with Netflix an enjoy an episode." So here is a list of some awesome shows to get your mind off the stress. (Hint: you'll probably recognize most of these.)

1. "New Girl"

This amazing show about a woman living with three guys is bound to make you laugh!

2. "The Office"

Feeling especially stressed? This show is sure to release some tension and giggles!

3. "Dinners, Drive-Ins, and Dives"

Listening to Guy Fieri always puts me in a good mood (besides making me hungry).

4. "Parks and Recreation"

Yet another irresistible show about work life.

5. "That 70's Show"

This show never gets old!

6. "Penny Dreadful"

Longer episodes than the shows listed above, but Penny Dreadful is a show full of mind blowing scientists, the undead, and the immortal.

7. "Frasier"

Never ceases to be a wonderful show that I can unwind to at the end of a long day.

8. "American Horror Story"

I'm biased, but you can't beat this. Same actors, different stories each season!

9. "How I Met Your Mother"

Fantastic show you are bound to get hooked on! That biology homework can wait!

10. "Friends"

A great show to watch while making flashcards or doing online homework (just saying).

There are SO many more Netflix shows I didn't acknowledge! The main point I want to share is: do not be consumed with studying, homework, and stress. Please take some time to enjoy the day. Unwind with a cup of tea and watch an episode or two before bed. Treat yourself for all the hard work you are putting forth to do well! It will pay off! Until next time, Happy October!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
