If you’ve been to as many concerts as I have, you start to notice the various kinds of people enjoying the music around you. They’re all fun to watch and each of them have distinct qualities. Concerts, and different kinds of music in general, are so amazing because there’s always something for everyone and everybody in the audience connects to the music in a unique way. These are the 10 kinds of concert-goers you might run into.

1. The hardcore fan

These people have probably been camped out in front of the venue for a couple days. They’ll go to any length to be at the barricade and front row; which might include sleeping on the sidewalk or throwing the occasional shove in the direction of someone trying to cut in line or push past them. They love this artist more than you and they’ll make that known.

2. The chill fan

These fans are just happy to be there. They aren’t super over the top and they are listening intently to every song throughout the night. They might sway a bit but don’t expect any crazy dance moves from this fan.

3. The security guard

We all know the security guards are there for our safety but sometimes they’re just jerks. They always look so grumpy - when they get to be the closest to the artist! Don’t they realize how lucky they are?? As long as you don’t cause problems, you normally won’t have any contact with any form of security.

4. The significant other

In my experience, the significant other comes in the form of a bored boyfriend. He’s obviously just there to make his girlfriend happy and he doesn’t look super excited to be there. Hopefully by the end of the concert, the significant other has had a good time because who doesn’t enjoy a good concert?

5. The serial texter

This person spends the whole time on their phone, texting. They aren’t even paying attention. Ignore that phone for a couple hours; concerts are a fun, unique experience and whoever you’re texting can wait!

6. The parent

Sometimes, these parents are actually interested in the artist too, but most of the time they’re there because they don’t want their child to go alone to the concert. Personally, I don’t think parents should waste a ticket on themselves or be in the general admission crowd taking up space to watch their kids. Basically, parents stick out like a sore thumb at concerts.

7. The very tall person

I have absolutely nothing against tall people - I’m on the tall side myself. But somehow, without fail, I always get stuck behind the person who has got to be at least 7’0”. And there’s nothing you can do about it because it isn’t their fault, so hopefully, you’re really good at standing on your tippy toes.

8. The couple

Going to a concert with your significant other is amazing and a great bonding experience that can be a lot of fun! But if you spend the whole concert making out, I guarantee you’re going to make everyone around you feel very uncomfortable.

9. The unofficial photographer

This person records the ENTIRE concert. Honestly, I don’t know how their arms don’t get tired. They’re holding up their phone or camera the entire concert, snapping photos and recording their favorite songs. It’s nice to have pictures and videos to look back on but sometimes you just need to experience what’s happening right in front of you.

10. The dancing fan

These fans are getting it; they’re truly dancing like nobody is watching. They’ve got some unique moves and they are probably having an amazing time. When the artist asks the audience to dance, this fan won’t hesitate to pull out their best moves.

These are just some of the interesting people you'll see at concerts. As long as you have an amazing time, it doesn't matter who else is there. Just sit back and enjoy the tunes. And next time you go to a concert, see how many of these people you can point out!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
