The sunshine, the pollen, the happiness.

Ah, spring. Everyone looks forward to it after the frigid winter. There's finally life outside, and yet there's more life than you would sometimes like. So, here's the best and worst events of spring.

The Worst

1. Bugs

Whether it's cute caterpillars before they become butterflies or that annoying buzzing sound in your ear, bugs are the worst part of spring. Forget about going anywhere with flowers; the bugs are there too, buzzing around and ruining your buzz of spring.

2. Pollen

Yellow dust that follows you everywhere. You want to wash your car? Might as well forget about it until June. There's not point when it's going to be tinted yellow the next day. Don't even get me started on allergies!

3. Tourists

Being from a tourist town, spring break can be the worst. There are new people everywhere. More cars, more traffic, more people, more anger and more road rage. Is it necessary to read the map every two seconds, or could you move to the side and actually make your way across the street?

4. Heat

We didn't like the cold in winter, but once it starts to get warm, it stays warm. And then it starts to get hot and uncomfortable. If you haven't made it home for spring break, then you don't have any clothes for it, and nobody likes to sweat that much.

5. Trips

Family vacations. Sometimes they're fun, and sometimes being stuck in the back of the car with your siblings makes you want to stab yourself in the eyes for entertainment.

The Best

1. Warm sunny days

Although sometimes the heat can become too much, nothing beats that perfect day with a nice breeze and clear skies. Perfect weather for the beach, a hammock or any outdoor activity.

2. Spring break

Nothing beats a week off of school in the middle of the semester. You've just made it past midterms and now you finally get some time to go home, get some home cooked food and see your friends.

3. Pretty campuses

Although pollen is a pest, walking through a blooming campus is one of the prettiest things there is in college. With flowers blooming on trees, bushes and in the ground, everywhere is color and happiness.

4. Adventures

There's finally the weather where if you see something on a road trip, you can take a minute to go on an adventure -- whether the adventure is around campus or going through a new field of wildflowers.

5. One step closer to summer

Nothing beats the fact that spring is one step closer to summer. You've made it through three quarters of a school year, and that last quarter is the only thing separating you from the vacations and tanning time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
