You're With Us! Giving Those With Disabilities A Sense Of Belonging
You're With Us!

Have you ever felt excluded or alone due to something you can't control? Do you wish that you could be part of a community? Many people with disabilities aren't included in everyday social events due to their differences, but why? Having disabilities is no reason to push someone into their bedroom all day, secluding them from their able-bodied peers.

You're With Us! helps young adults with a wide range of disabilities to feel like they belong in a sports group or club on a college campus. Inclusion, inclusion, inclusion! The goal of the program is to allow young adults with disabilities to feel as though they belong to a group but to also help the group as well. When these individuals are placed in a group, they have a special ability to open people up to compassion, empathy, and leadership skills with the people they interact with.

You're With Us! wants to show that young adults with disabilities don't need to be separated and excluded by their peers, but, instead, have the ability to make a large impact on their communities. When entering their communities, those with disabilities will be able to change the public's opinion on young adults with disabilities, allowing them to be part of their friend group and family.

You're With Us! is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and a Department of Developmental Services (DDS) service provider creating inclusion opportunities for young adults with disabilities. To learn more about this incredible organization, visit their website at http://www.yourewithus.org/ and watch this video with the Founder/ President of You're With Us!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
