I remember this time last year I was filled with worry, anxiety, and anticipation for college. Now, it's truly hard to believe that I'm a month away from completing my freshman year at college. I'm sure most other college freshmen can relate to this as this school year has seemed to fly by. College definitely seems to go by faster than high school, maybe because of how the semesters are or simply because of how busy it is.
Well, we have made it so far. Freshman year is almost over. We are about one fourth done with college. This is the time to realize that college is not impossible and it definitely does not last forever. We can take a step back and see all that we have accomplished freshman year. Since this year is almost in the books, there is only three years left. To some, that may sound like a lot but it really isn't. Three years until we enter the working world. Three more years to be silly college students.
As freshman year transitions into sophomore year, I hope there is not as much fear for the future. Just like high school, freshman year is often the most difficult because it is brand new. Of course, classes will only become more challenging but now college life has become the norm. We can handle more things and mature more into the adults that we must become.
The time is nearing to move out of our tiny dorms and into someplace new. It is time to kiss goodbye our freshman housing and settle into a new (and hopefully roomier) place. Now, we can look back onto move in day and realize that dorm living is not all that bad. We will miss our freshman roommate but look forward to meeting new people.
Let's leave this school year with a feeling of accomplishment. Completing the first year of college is a big deal. It was a scary, exciting, and new time for us freshmen. So give yourself a pat on the back and look forward to the next school year.
