The Phenomenon Of Post-Concert Depression, As Told By A Burgeoning Concert Vetera
This life is tough.
It's been almost four months and I'm still trying to cope from the last time this happened. Sometimes it just gets so hard. There have even been days when I felt like I just couldn't go on.
Relax, I'm only talking about post-concert depression!
My first experience with post-concert depression was leaving Lady Gaga's "Monster Ball Tour" in Fort Lauderdale. It was a sinking feeling going from having such an amazing time seeing one of my favorite artists in person to having to go to school the next day (yep, that actually happened).

I've been to a great number of artists' shows in the past few years, and whether it was an arena concert or a music festival, the sentiments are always the same. Post-concert depression is very real, guys.
One of my fondest memories of some amazing live music was Sunfest 2015. It was five straight days of music, art, and food under the sun. Artists of many different genres and backgrounds flocked to this music festival to perform their hits and kick off the summer season. I even got front-row access to some of my favorite artists like Paramore and Fall Out Boy!
So when I tell you I have post-concert depression from this, believe it. It is these five days I would want to relive again and again if I had the choice.
Although I've been faring well, the last bout of post-concert depression I've had is also the most recent. It came when I went to see Panic! At The Disco this summer. When I tell you that seeing them live is an experience...
Let's just say when I think back or look through my photos and videos to immortalize the moment...that PCD will hit from time to time. But just what is it that makes it so hard-hitting?
Is it that it provides an escape from reality? It is because seeing our favorite artists live is a wholly different experience from seeing them on TV? Or is it because live versions of our favorite songs tend to sound better than the original?
The world may never know what the true cause of PCD is, but one thing is for sure...millions of others are not alone. And for anyone that needs it, you WILL go to see your favorite artist again, I promise you.
