Get organized early.

There is nothing worse than showing up to class unprepared, especially if it's an upper level class with other experienced and organized students. Get your books, make a calendar, and get ahead.

Get into a schedule.

Plan out when you're going to wake up, eat your meals, and get your activities in. This will help you with time management, and prevent you from being lazy and disorganized. This can also show you how much free time you have to go do fun things like hang out with your friends or binge your favorite Netflix series!

Drink a lot of water.

Whether you're on the seventh day of your week-long partying bender, or just a little bit tired, drinking enough water each day is the easiest way to feel more energized and awake. I am constantly chugging water bottles throughout the day, and I've felt amazing ever since I started.

Keep in contact with your parents.

A little taste of home, even if it's just a quick phone call, can get you through the day. And, no matter how much you miss your family, chances are they miss you more. Whenever you have a few minutes, like walking to/from class or on a study break, call a parent or a sibling. It'll make their day, and probably yours!

Have fun.

This is probably the only week you don't have a serious boatload of work to do all semester. So, get up, go to your friend's place, and cherish the time you have before homework and exams start! My friends are the only thing keeping me sane in this crazy college world, so I've been spending all week with them.

If you have been following me for a long time, then you know I write about two main things: relateable articles and communication media based articles. Now, it is time for me to combine the two. For those of you that don't know, I am a radio DJ at IUP, and I DJ for a show called BPM (Beats Per Minute). It is an EDM, or electronic dance music, based show and I absolutely love it.

6 Things Owning A Cat Has Taught Me

Owning a pet can get difficult and expensive. Sometimes, their vet bills cost hundreds of dollars just for one visit. On top of that, pets also need food, a wee wee pad for a dog, a litter box with litter for a cat, toys, and treats. Besides having to spend hundreds of dollars on them, they provide a great companion and are almost always there when you need to talk to someone. For the past six years, I have been the proud owner of my purebred Bengal cat named Spock. Although he's only seven years and four months old, he's taught me so much. Here's a few of the things that he has taught me.

It's fun to see all of the selfies on social media, they are everywhere. I see pictures with pouty lips, duck lips and pucker lips. I see smokey eyes, huge fake lashes and nicely done nose jobs, boob jobs and butt lifts. Women working out in spandex, tiny tops and flip flops. I see tight abs and firm butts, manicured nails and toes, up dos and flowing hair. "Wow", I think to myself," I could apply tons of make-up, spend an hour on my hair, pose all day and not look like that. Maybe I need a longer stick!"
