It seems like being the President's daughter means that people will never leave you alone. they will try to tear you down, constantly monitor and look for flaws. Malia Obama recently graduated from Sidwell Friends School, she is taking a gap year and then heading to Harvard University next year. The young teen just like every other teenager is trying to enjoy her summer but she's being slammed left and right with criticism.
The internet has been shaming her on skipping out on Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention and attending the lollapalooza music festival instead. You think after growing up listening to all these speeches they wouldn't cut her some slack and just let her go. Not only that but at this festival one of the things that stirred up quite a bit of attention was her outfit.
What, is it illegal for a teenager to wear a crop top and shorts?
Footage of Malia Obama jamming out with her friends to a Bryson Tiller song and twerking was released. What's the big deal with dancing with our friends and enjoying a music festival. Is the President's daughter not allowed to have fun like anyone else?
Another thing that threw her into the fire were pictures and a very short video of her taking a puff, of what it looks to be a joint. As if that was not enough that they attacked her on skipping the speech at the DNC, her choice in apparel, and dancing, this certainly added oil to the fire. People took this as an opportunity to shame her and Obama for every action she made and drag out Obama's pot smoking days in his youth. Regardless of whether or not she was smoking marijuana, the area she was in has decriminalized marijuana. The internet criticizing Obama and Michelle Obama for the way they raised their kids. How about you worry about your own children.
Rewinding back to last year at Brown University during her college tours, the internet blew up on Malia Obama for being spotted with a crowd of other college kids that were partying at Brown. Tweets stated Malia was partying and taking shots, along with a snapchat image of her beside a beer pong table.
Along with several posts on twitter of Malia being at this party from other people (Which most of been removed)
Beer pong. Are we really running out of world issues to be concerned about? Does an 18 year old not have the right to a typical college experience?
What’s wrong with her being just like any other typical teenager. Give the girl some privacy. These are thing the public eye doesn’t need to worry about. Let the young girl enjoy her summer with her friends. Stop calling her a wild child. She isn't doing anything wrong. Why attack her when she should be able to be normal? Just because their parents are political figures doesn’t mean they can't lead normal lives.
You're young Malia, have fun!
