Poetry On Odyssey: The Best Of Our Seasons

The bugs are buzzing,

My face turns red, and it looks like I am blushing.

The birds are tweeting every morning,

As they give the warming warning.

The weather is hot but cool,

Come to think of it, it is kind of cruel.

This is spring and summer is coming.

It is hot and sweaty,

My whole body feels like spaghetti.

It is humid, disgusting and ugly,

I cannot believe that people do not find this lovely.

There are bugs everywhere,

There are so many that I cannot even go outside without on being there.

It is okay, fall will be here.

Fall is here,

And I am ready for a hectic year.

With extracurricular activities and clubs,

There is no time for simple hugs.

There are college applications, tests, and ap exams

That is how you know there is no time for jams.

Welcome back they say,

But why say hey when you know there is no time to play.

Winter is here,

My favorite time of year.

No humidity and lots of fun,

It is so much fun, and there is no bright sun.

Hot chocolate, snow, icicles

I am so happy that this time is so reliable.

Sure there are finals,

But after that we are out of denial.

And the cycle starts over again.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
