Red: A September Poem

I know what I know

A red wine colored blanket wraps around my tired body.

Chemistry bonds of red hydrogen and oxygen swirl inside my brain.

I have so many due dates and tasks I think I am insane,

Because I love this work I have, why else would I choose to do it?

The force inside me compels me to keep looking for it,

what is the "it" you say?

Why it's the purpose of these ways

To seek

To learn

To create a better day from yesterday

To live in the moment is to write poetry,

To swim in the ocean of knowledge is to be poetry,

The science I study, and the days that I hurry, are all apart of me escaping from worry,

because there is no worry in the world of an electron

negative, but never sad,

Positive, but never too far away from a neutron of balance,

and always moving, why,

maybe that is why I like to move!

From page to page in 500 page books

and move from street to street,

from person to person.

Trying to understand what could possibly be worse than

living a life of no curiosity-

No newton, no thomson to counter religeous illusions

the world becomes clear with science,

but it becomes fun with poetry,

the connection between these have always been woozy,

But I dream of a day where the connection is clear,

My poems have a melody that one is able to wear

On the crown of knowledge that they wear on their heads

Or alongside their crazy traditions and unmade beds,

Nothing has to make sense!

But everything is clear!

Poetry is a music a feeling written for the world to hear,

because less is more, and more is less,

the world can be confused with the tilt of my poetic hat,

I know where I go

I know what I know

And chemistry and poetry will find their place together

So beautifully matched like pen and the paper.

True knowledge combines the freedom of rhyme with an elemental rhythm,

True knowledge knows no limit to the neuro connection.

Poetry is chemistry and chemistry is poetry

The world makes sense now with their communion.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
