Let's talk about something that is close to everyone's heart. No, I am not talking about your friends or family. I am talking about the all-powerful Buzzfeed. It is the pop culture sensation that is sweeping the nation (not to mention Twitter, Facebook and like the whole entire Internet).I would bet you five bucks - no, a million bucks - that you just finished either reading a Buzzfeed article, watching a Buzzfeed video, or taking a quiz that told you what type of pizza you were in another life (or something in the same vein). Maybe you watched the viral video about the puppy. I mean, what's not to love about a puppy and a moderately attractive hipster man with an impressive stache?
Yes, Buzzfeed knows how to hook us. They know what we as a generation like, and they know how to stay relevant. I can say this as a certified addict. As in, "Hello,, my name is Cara and I am hopelessly addicted to that Buzzfeed quiz that told me Ron Weasley was my soulmate." And that is just one example of my crippling obsession. So what makes Buzzfeed so powerful? Why do they have this hold over us? And WHY do I feel the need to click on every link that flies across my news feed?
The answer can only be given in true Buzzfeed fashion: Gifs and tRendY typing.
They know how you feel in your ~soul~
They get life's little luxuries...
Pop Culture reference? Come on its Buzzfeed.
*side note if you have not seen Shia LaBeouf's inspirational speech just DO IT -
They also stay relevant with current events in the news and sports.
They get the dog people...
And even the cat people (though I don't) *no disrespect to cat people*
They are feminists like the Queen Meryl Streep.
They are completely open to people loving WHOEVER they want. Even Chipotle. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #equality
They know what we care about and what we can't even.
And finally they know that you are going to read another article after you read this. (Don't lie to me, yourself, or T Swift - you know it's true.)
