You Know You're From Long Island If You Know How To Pronounce These 9 Towns

As you could probably already tell, I am from Long Island. Being born and raised on Long Island, you learn that there are some weird town names on the island. Only a true Long Islander will know how to pronounce the following towns so try it out for yourself and see if you can pass the test:

1. Hauppauge

( "HAH-pog")

2. Massapequa

(pronounced "mass-uh-PEAK-wuh")

3. Mattituck

("MAT-it-uck")

4. Mineola

("mini-OH-luh)

5. Quogue

(pronounced "KWOG")

6. Wyandanch

("WHY-an-danch")

7. Ronkonkoma

("ron-CON-kuh-muh")

8. Syosset

("sigh-OSS-ett")

9. Commack

("KO-mack")
