Records are becoming increasingly popular among young adults so it's no surprise that larger retail stores such as Urban Outfitters and Target want to cater to the Gen Z/Millennial generations. The downside to shopping at these larger stores is that it can often be difficult to find obscure or old favorites. Additionally, who doesn't love the feeling of flipping through massive stacks of records? I know I do. Here are a few local record stores around Indianapolis that you will love:

1. LUNA Music

If you live in Indianapolis you have surely seen LUNA Music's iconic logo either on someone's laptop in a coffee shop or on the window of a car passing by. Located on the corner of 52 St. and College Ave., you can't miss it. LUNA Music's collection is neatly sorted by genres: alternative, electronic, indie, hip-hop, and many more. It's truly difficult to not find what you're looking for here.

LUNA Music is located at 5202 N. College Ave.

2. Indy CD and Vinyl

Located in the heart of Broad Ripple, Indy CD and Vinyl DOES NOT disappoint. Indy CD and Vinyl has quite the expansive collection of records to choose from. You can find just about any record your heart desires either used or new. The store also has a great variety of more rare pieces of vinyl. Looking for those Sub Pop "Loser Edition" vinyl? Indy CD and Vinyl has you covered.

Indy CD and Vinyl is located at 806 Broad Ripple Ave.

3. Square Cat Vinyl

Square Cat Vinyl might just be your new favorite record store if you're 21 or older. Square Cat Vinyl is equal parts a record store, small concert venue, and a bar. Yes, you heard that correctly. You can sip on wine (or beer) while perusing the aisles looking for your new favorite vinyl. If you aren't 21, have no fear because Square Cat also serves coffee and tea.

Square Cat Vinyl is located in Fountain Square at 1054 Virginia Ave.

4. Karma Records

Karma Records has been a staple in the Indianapolis community since 1970. With past in-store performances by Twenty-One Pilots and Vance Joy, Karma Records has proven that they are here to stay. There are three locations around Indianapolis overall and all three are worth checking out.

Karma Records has three locations: Karma Northwest - 3532 W. 86th St.; Karma West - 3802 N. High School Rd.; Karma East - 21 N. Post Rd.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
