We are a creation

spawned on a flawed easel

painted with the frayed brush fearing coloring outside of the lines

reflective of the small girl who's taught she means "limit" and he means "unlimited"

slowly pulling tight her hoodie strings

She is a spectrum with

a beauty so bright and unaware

with beautiful eyelashes grown

as long as her fight towards liberation

she’s told to pull tight her hoodie strings

She is love

good for the soul, but not always for a broken heart

she traces her footsteps

side-stepping the shards

pulling tight her hoodie strings

She is born a glass heart

carefully crafted on the outside

purposely left hollow on the inside

prepared to battle a world of devils masked as saints

she pulls tight her hoodie strings

One day,

someone will love you

almost as much as I do

I'll be your autumn breeze, whisking by you

and softly I'll sing
