4 Bands My Annoying Neighbors Are In

Everyone has lived above or near annoying neighbors. I’m doing it right now. It’s terrible and I hate it. This article highlights some of the bands that my neighbors could be in if they had a little more drive and were a little less dumb. I urge you to listen to the songs, as each one was handcrafted with love. They are also available for free download, should you feel so inclined.

Mary Jane and the Assistant Managers

Buoyed by their 2012 hit, "P-to-the-O-T," Mary Jane and the Assistant Managers floundered for several albums before finding their groove with last year's, 1988+1. The album features such notable highlights as "No Cushion Couch," and "Split Spliff," a clip of which can be heard here. Though they possess little clout in the authentic reggae community, their success increases every time a girl turns 14.

Podunk and the Shit-Grin Gang

While never catching on in the mainstream, Podunk and the Shit-Grin Gang made a name for themselves as a touring bar band. Their song topics frequently include camaraderie, rowdiness, and a severely misguided concept album about suicide bombers. Their biggest hit will likely always remain "We Drink a Lot and Smoke a Lot and Keep Our Neighbors Up At Night," a very fun romp with lyrics about keeping a neighbor up at night even though the neighbor has a real job and needs to get some sleep. A clip from the single can be found here.

Ironic Millenials

Ironic Millenials are annoying and they know it. They treat their fans like crap, their music is terrible, and their clothes are tacky. But get this - it's all ironic, according to the band. "It's less work to be ironic than to be good," lead singer Juts McGee told Spin earlier this month. If you really are curious about what the Ironic Millenials sound like, fan-favorite "N00dlez <=3" can be heard here.

Crushed Pabst

Crushed Pabst is a rap group straight from the colon of Motown. Founders/producers Pat Flapjack and Dog Barker began rapping in high school when they realized their parents had screwed them from the beginning and they were already headed nowhere. Consequently, their biggest hit is 2010s “Road to Nowhere.” The lyrics, reprinted below, find them waxing poetic about their problems - or lack thereof. Listen to the track here.

Road to Nowhere:
“Yo, I come from the land of privilege. I’m white, I’m dumb, and I’m loaded.
Mommy and daddy gonna pay the bills, I’m gonna use all my money for cheap thrills.
I like to party real hard and get real loud. people with their windows shut can hear me for miles.
But that’s okay, cause’ nothing never doesn’t go my way. If it were up to me, be poppin’ bottles everyday.
Flunking out of college, but it’s pretty tight. My uncle got me a job at his construction site.
My parents say they love me, isn’t that lovely. If only they smelled the green haze up above me.
Yo, what the hell is a resume? Smell my ashtray, I got booties to slay.
I’m workin’ real hard, and I’m going real’ far and I’m all burned out before I’m 24.”

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
