Because during finals week, everybody is strong as hell.

Finals Week As Told By 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'

When "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" premiered on Netflix last year, I realized this was probably the most #relatable show I've seen in my entire life. Everything about this show brings joy, and it is a wonderful reminder to be awesome. So as you go into the end of semester and finals week, remember you are unbreakable!

(Netflix didn't pay me to say any of the above...hint, hint.)

It's the end of April, and you realize finals are just around the corner

However, you feel extremely motivated because this is college and you actually have to study unlike high school

But then, your professor gives you some sort of review and you realize you know nothing

You take a look at your finals schedule, you realize you have two finals on the same day

By Sunday,

But you have that one study buddy who always comes in clutch, so

You think sugar will help you stay up

But then you realize this is an impossible task, so you ask your study buddy to wake you up from a power nap in an hour. However, you're really thinking:

But even though you rely on power naps,

When you studied really hard for that one final, and you see something you know

And then your professor puts questions from old tests on the final

However, you then remember you have another final immediately following that one

Tip: when deciding if the best answer is A or B:

You check your phone as you get up to turn in your exam, but you don't want the TA to think you're cheating

The middle of the week has got you like

However, this is how you feel about all of the information you don't know but are still trying to process

And you consider dropping out to explore a career in the important things in life

During the hardest final in the world, you think to yourself

But, don't forget

After, you want to seek revenge on your professor

But you talk yourself down by putting things into perspective

Even with that pep talk, that difficult final has got you feeling some type of way

But then you realize you only have one final left

You turn it in,

And now you can celebrate!!!

...because you survived another semester of college, and

If Kimmy Schmidt can survive 15 years in a bunker, then you can survive a week of finals! When you get done, reward yourself with an all day binge watching session of "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Both seasons are streaming now on Netflix.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

19 Lessons I'll Never Forget from Growing Up In a Small Town

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Waitlisted for a College Class? Here's What to Do!

Dealing with the inevitable realities of college life.

college students waiting in a long line in the hallway

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
