I don't have personal experience yet with white papers and E-Books, I do have article experience. Articles are typically long or short, and they usually range from several hundred words to several thousand words. My content that I post to Odyssey Online ranges in length depending on what I'm writing about for that week, but I do follow some of the steps like the book mentions when I do write.
I make sure to define my audience always, if I'm writing about Taylor Swift, for example, I usually address her swifties or use a cool reference from a song of hers. In other words, I want my audience to relate to what I'm saying. I do also have a plan for what gets posted and how I'll be posting it, I will always section off my paragraphs to make sure my content is easy to read. My content may not always include information from outside sources since its usually about my experiences, but I do make sure my content is organized so that my audience knows that there is some type of order to what I am saying. These are just some of the steps that I follow, there is sometimes more steps that I do take because writing is a process and its never perfect. There are many ways to go about writing just like the book mentions, but for now, writing articles is something that I will continue to do. I will most certainly keep learning about the other platforms in which writing is involved!
