College: it's what every parent dreams about and hopes that their kids go to one day. Generations surely have changed over the years. Some of our parents didn’t have the opportunity to go to college. Back in the day, our parents didn’t have much choice, either because they had to stay home and farm or because college was just coming around during that time and was too expensive for them.

I am a college student myself and often wonder what it would be like if our colleges were free to go to. Would America be happier if it was? We go to college to get a degree in a career that we are passionate about. But the outcome is that we are drowning in debt afterwards for many years. There is so much pressure for going to college, but what happens if you are stuck and don’t know what to do?

There are so many options for people who don’t go. If you don’t go to college, you can still have a job that you enjoy and still make a great living.

No matter what job you get with or without a degree, jobs now are so scares that they will hire you and are willing to train you in the position that is available. And even if you didn’t go to college, that doesn’t mean you are worthless and or that you should make less than someone that has a degree.

Going to college is a hard and very important decision to make, but just know that you are never too old to go. There is a lot of success stories out there of older adults who had made the decision to go back. They are grown up and have taken the phrase "what I want to be when I grow up" to a new level.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
