Things College Freshmen Should JUST DO, Motivated by Shia Labeouf and Guest Stars

As a college freshman, there are fears that you will hate your roommate, never make friends, and fail all your classes. But there are certain things that you need to just do in order to ensure you are maximizing your college experience's potential.

Shia Labeouf starts of this list with a motivational speech.

Shia Labeouf will give you the motivation to JUST DO the following:

1.) Make friends-- don't be shy!

2.) Go to the gym-- you'll feel so much better about yourself

3.)Text that girl/ guy from last night

4.) Respond to the text from that girl/ guy from last night.

5.) Join clubs!-- This is how you meet people, build a resume, and explore your interests.

6.) Try to be friends with your roommate-- your life will be SO much easier.

7.) Go to more sporting events besides football and basketball games.

There are so many ways to show support for your school, and you may find a new sport you enjoy watching.

8.) Go to bed before 2:30 four nights out of the week.-- Your brain and body will thank you.

9.) Raise your hand and ask questions.

You're paying money to be here, might as well understand what you're paying to learn.

10.) Dance on that table!

11.) Blow the minds of those that didn't believe in you

12.) Get to know your professors — they will be your biggest asset for the next few years.

13.) Vacuum once a week so your friends aren't forced to sit on hair balls or food crumbs.

14.) Do your homework ASAP so that your nights are free to socialize, and Sunday is free for football.

15.) Call your parents once a week-- They miss you, and you miss them.

16.) Tell your roommate that you would appreciate if he/she would change the alarm from that annoying fire alarm to something more welcoming.

17.) Don't feel guilty about going out.

18.) If it's snowing / raining, suck it up and go to class.

19.) But also don't lose sight of why you are here. — There is work to be done.

20.) Have FUN!-- You only have your freshman year once. It will go by faster than you think.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
