"Zoey 101," along with other Disney and Nickelodeon shows of the '90s, represents a large portion of my tween years. Every kid wanted to go to school at PCA, and almost every girl thought Logan was dreamy. I was devastated when that amazing show had to end, and even more devastated when I found out that precious Zoey was actually pregnant in real life. Even though the show is no longer running, the legacy of Zoey and the PCA crew will definitely live on in the memory of every late-'90s kid out there.
One of the best "Zoey 101" moments was when Zoey recorded a video for a time capsule. In the show she says that the video contains her true feelings for Chase, even though true fans already knew what she was going to say. She then says he has to wait 20 years to find out. Gratefully, she figured that 20 years was a little harsh and decided to bump it back to 10. Those 10 years are now up!
Having been caught up in real life, many of us die-hard fans forgot about this monumental moment, but the show did not. Releasing a possibly life-changing video, the flashback Friday game has forever been changed. In it Michael watches Zoey’s video and tells Chase what Zoey really felt about him. Check it out in the video below!
The only downside about this is that it ends in possibly one of the worst cliffhangers of all time. The moment we have all been waiting for, for 10 years I might add, ends in the classic “To be continued” line that we all know and hate. When I saw that "To be continued," I was left in frustration and awe, asking myself, "Why, Nickelodeon, why?" Chase and Zoey represented a power couple for the ages, even though they were never really official. They had that best friendship/romance that everyone wanted. Since the very first time they met, everyone knew that they would end up together.
The remarkable thing about this is that it actually happened. They actually released this video, a video that no one ever saw coming. No one expected Nickelodeon to follow up with this, and for that reason I salute everyone involved in making this. You not only brought back a taste of nostalgia for all of the college kids out there, you reminded us that anything is possible. The love that everyone wanted to see unfold, may possibly unfold in front of our very eyes, an amazing 10 years later. I don’t know about you, but that definitely makes me feel old. All the poor 12-year-olds on social media don’t understand the power that this five-minute video has.
The only thing left is for the “To be continued” to be answered. Will the power couple of Nickelodeon be reunited? All I have to say is that I have some high expectations for the ending of this, and I’ll hopefully leave with hope that things really do work out in the end.
