As the summer is coming to an end, college students are beginning to stress about the upcoming fall semester. As a college student myself, stressing before the semester begins is the norm for me. I am going into my senior year, and there are a million thoughts entering my head. I'm beginning to feel excited about being near the end of my college career, but at the same time, I am beginning to worry about life after college. The loans I have to pay back, the job search and the idea that I am now a big girl. I am going to venture out into the world on my own.
It's a terrifying thought, but I have learned to talk myself down from these thoughts. Over the past four years I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned the direction I want my life to go. I have learned how to break out of my shell and be myself. I have learned to take chances. In order to get to this place in my life I had to endure those long nights of stressing over my future. But I also had to teach myself how to breathe easy, how to relax and let go of the stress and take myself to my happy place.
I know that with this upcoming fall semester there are going to be many students who are feeling the same way I felt. They are experiencing their own version of stress. They are learning who they are in their own way and that's perfectly fine, that's the way it should be. However, those that are dealing with stress need to breathe. Collect your thoughts and calm yourself. Things will work out in the end.
There are many people who are dealing with the constant struggles of their mind. They get in their head that they will not be okay, that their life isn't adding up the way that they want it to. Those people need to learn that everything is going to be okay. Things take time to form into the visions that we have. Our lives will not just fall together without us working for what we want.
I am not writing this to make students around the world nervous about their futures, but to help them realize that things will be okay. Things will work out. You might have to take a few detours while on the road to your success but ultimately, those detours will lead you to your goals.
We all are dealing with stressful times in our lives. We all have gone through periods where we felt like we wouldn't reach our goals. We all have doubted ourselves and the situations around us. We all have experienced similar situations and with those similar situations we have to have the exact same reaction as each other, that is to breathe easy. To relax. To stay calm. Things may seem like they are bad now but I promise, they get better.
