10 Things You Did After School If You Grew Up In The Mid 2000s

Picture this, you just got out of school and it's a wonderful spring day. You and your friends are talking about the release of the new High School Musical. You and your friends decide to go over to your house to watch the premiere of High School Musical 2. After the watch party of a lifetime you head back to school to start to make plans for the weekend. However, before you can look forward to the weekend you have things to do after school before the weekend can begin. Here are the top 10 things you probably did after school if you grew up in the 2000's:

1. You traded silly bandz with your friends.

Let's be real, the cooler the silly bands the more popular you were. You had a sense of leverage within your friend group if you owned the rainbow tie-dyed peace sign silly band.

2. You Picto-Chatted with your friends.

No matter if it was field trip time or sleepovers you always had your Nintendo and were ready to exchange messages.

3. After school phone calls.

As soon as you got home from school you would call your friend or vice versa and talk like y'all didn't just spend 8 hours together.

4. Cruised the mall.

You thought you were so cool. You got all of your homework done, and your parents dropped you off, you had a complete hour of freedom. Just you, your friends, and a sub-par mall.

5. Watched your favorite Disney show.

You couldn't wait to get your homework done so you could have full control of the TV. You related to Lizzie McGuire and wanted to have a middle school experience just like hers.

6. Jammed out to the Jo-Bros.

You prided yourself on being able to rap big Rob's part in Burnin' Up, and you were looking forward to the 7th album promised in Year 3000.

7. Watched every single Hannah Montana.

You could quote every single song and you and your friend were basically Miley and Lilly.

8. Mastered the Hoedown Throwdown.

After mastering this dance you thought you were a country music queen! You mastered Miley's line dance so you could basically line dance to anything.

9. You planned your trip to Limited Too.

If you grew up in a town like mine, you would have to travel to Dallas to be at the ultimate tween dreamland.

10. You had no care in the world.

The only things you were worried about is what classes to take and making sure you and your friends got your table at lunch.

Middle school might have been rough but it wasn't all bad when you were living in the mid 2000's.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
