8 Things You Know If You Grew Up in Bethlehem

1. Friday Nights Were Reserved For One Thing, High School Football

Whatever school you attended, you knew that on Friday, no matter what the temperature, you’d be out in the student section cheering on the boys as they take on their opponent! Afterwards, the school would head to Applebees for half priced apps.

2. Wawa Was and Still is Better Than Sheetz

Sheetz who? We all knew that a Wawa hoagie was way better than a Sheetz Sandwich, oh and the 2 for $3.33 Sizzlis or the free coffee days!

3. You Were Always Out on Main Street During Musikfest

Every night in late August you went to Downtown Bethlehem for the corn, and to take pictures and post them with the caption, “Festin with the Best!”

4. Everyone Hated Parkland with a Passion

No matter what high school you attended, everyone can agree we hate Parkland High School the most! We root for 2 teams, our high school and whoever plays Parkland!

5. When You Were Bored, You Went to Pet Pups at the Local Pet Shop

What else do you do when you’re bored but go to the Palmer Park Mall with friends to find the cutest puppies and put them on snapchat?

6. You Loved Bethlehem Most Around Christmas

Bethlehem really lights up come mid-November, with the tree lighting, Kriskindlemart, the famous trees on the light posts, and all the other Christmas attractions all around the city.

7. Our Tap Water is Second to NONE

Call us crazy, but we stand by that claim. Once you drink our water, you’ll never look at other water the same way!

8. When You Move or Head to College, A Little Piece of Bethlehem Sticks with You

Whether you are packing the bags and moving out of town, or heading to college, our “Little Town of Bethlehem,” always holds a special place in your heart.

So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
