6 Things To Thank Your Mother For This Mother's Day

This is your reminder that Mother's Day is May 8! We're extremely grateful for all our mothers year round, but once a year we get to really appreciate everything that they do. Here are six things to remember to thank your mother for!

1. She gave you life

The second we are born and we become who we are, she becomes a mother. We go from being carried in them for nine months, carried in their arms for three years and then carried forever by their endless love.

2. She'll always care for you

No matter how rundown we get, our mom's are always by our side battling with us. If it's recovering from surgery or catching the flu, she's there. There's something magical about moms and the way they make us feel better faster than we ever could on our own.

3. She's constantly there for you

In case, of emergency, call mom. In case, of sadness, call mom. In case, of needing a doctors appointment, call mom. She's only a call away and will never hesitate to help you with whatever dilemma you've gotten yourself into this time.

4. She's your number one fan

Every sporting event or ceremony you have, she'll be there. She knows way more about sports and research projects than she ever thought she would, thanks to you. There's no distance she wouldn't travel to show she cares.

5. She's an incredible friend

Since she is just a phone call away, she knows all the important details of your life. She knows just what to say when you're feeling down and need a good life talk. Also, she is always down to gossip and keeps you up to date with all the latest news.

6. She's always going to love you

We might trip and stumble down this path we call life but at the end of the day, we can always rely on the love we receive from our mothers.

So Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible mothers around the world and especially to the mothers that are no longer with us, your legacy is carried on by your wonderful children.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
