5 Simple, Yet Relaxing Things To Do When You’re Bored At Home

Wouldn't it be great if there were a magic pill to add sparkle to your life?

Then, you'd never have to worry about apathy dumping your existence. Unfortunately, I don't know of a secret cure to boredom.

Good news is that I'll clue you in on fantastic things you can do when you're bored out of your mind. For today, I want you to forget about the list of apps or movies that will have you sitting on your couch for hours.

I'm talking about fun activities that will lighten your mood and relax your mind.

So let's begin.

1. Eat your food outside

The last thing you probably want to do when bored is to pick an outfit and hit the outdoors. But here's the exciting thing, you don't have to go through all that trouble. Simply choose a casual outfit, don your shades, wear your slippers and make your way to a restaurant with a patio.

Eating your food outside can help lift your mood and improve your wellbeing. Not only do you get your daily intake of Vitamin D, but also most importantly you get to explore new places and meet new people.

The secret lies in picking an ideal cafe Queenstown spot with a beautiful view, delicious meals, and comfortable seats.

2. Take a bubble bath

Do you have a tub that's collecting dirt instead of fizzy bubbles?

It's about time you experience the relaxing effect of having a luxurious bath without spending money at a spa. The first thing to do is to get the temperature right; you don't want it to be scalding or cold. For most people, 92 degrees Fahrenheit serves as the ideal setting.

Big bubbles help retain the temperature of the water longer, so make sure you use a creamy formula. Add any scented oils or bath salts for the perfect soaking experience.

3.Grab an interesting book

Read an exciting book that you love. If you're up for it, you can be a little experimental and try reading new genres than your usual pick. Don't make such a giant leap to foreign material as that might worsen your mood.

If you like comedy, you can switch it up a bit and try drama, instead of diving head first into anthropology.

4.Plan a Night Out With Friends

Your friends can help you win the battle against boredom. Instead of staying indoors alone, round up a few of your favorite pals, and hit the outdoors.

It's best to pick a place with excellent music or live entertainment. You need somewhere you can drink and enjoy great conversations with your friends. With amazing bars Queenstown, you can expand your palate by ordering fabulous cocktails and wines.

5.Freshen up your décor

A few changes to your living space is enough to help you get a spark of joy in your life. Start by switching up your furniture arrangement or if you have a few coins to spare, buy wall art, or get new throw pillow covers.

You don't have to go extreme, start small as you progress to more significant decorating swaps. If you're up for it, exchange your neutral curtains for a colorful pattern that blends with your style.

Parting shot

By now, I'm sure you've realized that there are tons of activities to do that do not involve staying in bed all day or pressing next on the remote.

The trick is getting your energy system going by doing the small things you love and embracing the outdoors.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
