15 Fun Fall/Winter Date Ideas
Morgan Sokolic

Who doesn't love a cute fall or winter date? Doesn't matter if you live in the south where it is very warm all year round and you end up going to the beach or here in upstate New York where the trees turn beautifully and the air is crisp or in South Carolina where the beaches on Hilton Head look as beautiful as ever with their warm breezes. Don't have that special someone? Grab your friends, grab your sister, grab your dog! This is a fun list of things to do when you are running out of ideas as of what to do.

1. Decorate for Halloween

Nothing says you're in the Halloween spirit like decorating everything in orange, some scary cat looking thing and a bowl of candy in every room. Decorating for halloween is always fun, why not add someone else in the mix?

2. Haunted House

I'm the biggest scardey-cat so haunted houses have never been my thing. But, there are always those people out there who think its so romantic to have you jump into their arms at the sight of a guy chasing you in a bloody shirt?

3. Bonfire

Who doesn't love a good bonfire? You can sit out, have some hot chocolate, make smores and just relax. Makes for a great night if you ask me.

4. Snowball Fight

Yay! I love the snow and what better way to embrace your inner elf than with a snowball fight???

5. Pumpkin Carving

This is a cute date idea because you could make matching pumpkins or if you're stuck babysitting, its something you can do where the kids will love it just as much as you.

6. Lights on the Lake

One of my favorite things after halloween is to go to Lights on the Lake. The walk through couldn't be anymore romantic, if you ask me. Too cold to walk that stretch? Wait a few days, turn on the Christmas music and slowly roll through the beautiful lights displays.

7. Make Seasonal Cookies

The Pillsbury company was made for the holidays. I really don't know what else there is to say about those beautifully put together yummy treats.

8. Apple/Pumpkin Picking

Not too brag, but upstate New York is home to the best apple orchard in the US. Thanks, Beak and Skiff. Love you.

9. Movie Marathon

ABC Family (I'm still refusing to call it Freeform) can definitely help out here. With movie schedules like 13 Nights of Halloween and 25 Day's of Christmas, you will watch so many movies you won't know what to do with yourself. You'll also be too excited to see all of your favorites you won't know what to do with yourself.

10. Football Games

Ra ra raaaaaaa. Football is always in season, right? Grab your friends, a big blanket, and cheer on your favorite team.

11. Fall Photoshoot

The beautiful fall colors are just begging you to take pictures with them.

12. Halloween Party

Who doesn't love to dress up in costumes and go out with their friends? Its always a good time to dress as something you don't normally dress as and go out and have a good time.

13. Christmas Light Photoshoot

How romantic! What a cute idea to do with anybody. Grab some twinkly lights, wrap yourself up and snap some pics.

14. Lazy Day

Grab your favorite pj's, that Christmas movie marathon, some hot cocoa and just chill on the couch all day.

15. Wrap Presents

Nothing gets me more ready for the holiday season like wrapping presents I get for everyone. Can't wrap for your life? Don't worry, there's always those little kiosks in the mall that can.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
