The Winter is coming and it's has a lot to offer; cute dates, snow days, getting to use your fire place, celebrating the holidays and the new year, but along with all of these great positives, it wreaks major havoc on your gentle skin! Being a victim of the cold, harsh northeast winter, I have done my fair share of testing and research on which products seemed to work best for me and kept my skin in tact.

1. Clarins HydraQuench Cream $50

The winter always dries out my skin but this crème keeps the moisture in without over compensating with too much oil.

2. TONYMOLY Peach Hand Cream $12

This hand cream not only looks cute but also smells great and has plenty of vitamins to keep your skin smooth as possible.

3. LuLuLun Moisturizers Pink Mask $24

These face masks hydrate your skin in just 15 minutes and keep it soft and smooth and ready to take on any adventures you have for the day.

4. Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner $15

This toner feels amazing on your skin keeping it cool and helping your complexion even out, reducing redness.

5. Benefit Boo Boo Zap! $16

We all get those blemishes that we prefer not to have and this little bottle is pure magic. Just like it says in the name, a drop of this product just zaps your pimple away!

6. Fresh Sugar Face Polish $62

Whether it's dry lips or just wanting to keep those pores clean after the gym, this exfoliator cleans the dead skin off in minutes. (Better for less sensitive skin)

7. Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips $7.49

These pore strips get all of those blackheads to vanish and help your skin feel revived and new after just 8 minutes.

8. Sun Bum Sunscreen Face Stick $12

Whether your skiing or it just happens to be super sunny out, the sun's rays don't decide to become less powerful in the fall and winter! It's still important to block those rays out and save your skin with this cute banana scented sunscreen.

9. Sebum & Oil Blotting Paper $12

if you don't want to carry around extra powder to avoid your shine, or stop yourself from caking too much on, these blotting sheets help balance out your oils and keeps your makeup looking refreshed no matter how much heating there might be on in your room.

10. Dior Hydra Life BB Crème $60

This BB crème is a life saver when it comes to those dark circles from finals and midterms! We can blame professors and bosses all we want, but the only way of making them go away is with a great eye cream.

11. SANTA MARCHE Kyoto Uji Green Tea Peeling Gel $36

If your skin is a bit more sensitive, herbal mixes might be better for removing dead skin cells. This green tea peeling gel is my grandma's favorite. It cleans your skin so it's nice and revamped for the next day and is a lot less harsh on sensitive skin.

12. So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser $5.99

This deep clean pore cleanser is like a nicer version of sea breeze or witch hazel. Those might be too strong, causing your skin to redden or irritate, but this is gentler and after you wipe down your face, the results are right before your eyes on that cotton ball.

13. Wipe Your Face Off Make-Up Removing Facial Wipes $5.99

After a whole day of running from place to place and working hard in class or in an office, you want to cleanly remove ALL of your makeup so you don't casually see some of last nights eyeliner on your chin. This face wipe gets your whole face clean without leaving it super oily.

14. Bioré Charcoal Pore Minimizer $8.99

This pore minimizer applies black, but don't be alarmed, it gets the job done! It cleans them all out in a gentle way and frees them from any toxins or oils that may have gotten in while you're just out there living life.

15. Water! $0

At the end of the day, we could all just use a nice shower or face wash! Cold water feels super refreshing after being in a cozy bed the whole night and warm water feels amazing after spending the day outside!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
