Every mother-daughter relationship is different. Some are more complicated than others, but ultimately, it is the most significant connection in a girls' life. The Gilmore Girls possess an open and honest, quirky relationship, one we can all aspire to have. If anything on this list applies to you and your mom, you are one lucky girl and don't forget it!

1. You have inside jokes.

No one else gets your bits and jokes, but it doesn't matter. It makes you laugh.

2. You borrow each other's clothes.

Sometimes without asking.

3. For some reason, you end up telling her everything.

You might have planned on leaving out that bit of information, but you tell your mom anyway. She might wonder what you were thinking but doesn't judge.

4. People ask if you are sisters.

This might drive you crazy, but your mom loves it!

5. She lets you go through your bad-boy phase.

She was young once and understands, but as long as it's just a phase.

6. You can be doing nothing together but still have fun.

A night of vegging out and watching classics with your mom is always a good idea.

7. Sometimes you feel like the mother in the relationship.

On occasion, you have to step in as the voice of reason, but that's okay. Moms can cut loose too.

8. She's your favorite person to get into trouble with.

Because let's face it, if you get into trouble with your mom, you're never really "in trouble".

8. She always gives you the best surprises.

Because she listens and knows exactly what you want.

9. And advice.

Because she's been there, done that.

10. After a breakup, there's no one else you'd rather wallow with.

She knows exactly what to say and do to get you back on your feet.

11. She makes sacrifices so you'll have everything you deserve.

But it's worth it, to give you the life she never had.

12. She is as proud of you as you are of her.

This is what makes your relationship so great. You support and encourage one another. You push each other to be the best you both can be.

13. She's your best friend.

When you were younger, she was your mom – changing your diapers, telling you what to do, and taking care of you. Now, as you get older you begin to understand all the sacrifices and rules she made. You have a new-found respect for her as you begin to make your own decisions, and you're grateful that you had such a great role model to guide you through life. Now she is your best friend that you can go to for adult advice, and she is always there to help you, because she loves you. You're her daughter.

I love you, mom.
