Christmas break is almost here and there are plenty of things to be excited for. Before you know it, you will be at home drinking hot chocolate while watching one of ABC Family's 25 Christmas movies. Here are 13 things to get you in the holiday spirit:

1. No School

Exams will be over. You will not have to think about anything school related.

2. Free Food

There is nothing better than free food and lots of it.

3. You get to see your friends and family

It's one big reunion.

4. Sweater Weather

It will be highly acceptable for you to wear your ugly christmas sweaters.

5. Christmas Music

This will be on repeat.

6. Christmas Movies

The Elf. Christmas Vacation. The Grinch Stole Christmas. The Polar Express. Home Alone. Too many to choose from.

7. Cookie Galore

Don't forget to make Santa some.

8. Red Cups

Starbucks becomes more of an necessity during the holidays.

9. Lights Everywhere


Driving around to look at christmas lights will be a must.

10. Bonfires

It won't be "too hot" to have a fire.

11. Potential Snow Days

There's always the chance of a White Christmas.

12. Present Planning

Better start now..

13. The Joy

It's okay to be excited.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
