We all have a friend that is so obsessed with something that we worry about their mental health. Maybe you are that person. I know I am . I have been this way since I fell in love with *NSYNC when I was about 5, and throughout my life my obsessions have changed. I don't mind being known as a fangirl, but I do have some confessions that I think other fangirls and boys can relate to.

1. I do not think I am going to marry the person.

I might go into a dream state and think about it for 2.2 seconds, but I do not believe it. They are famous. I am not. Or they might be fictional people. I know what is plausible and what isn't.

2. Understand that I will talk about my obsession all the time.

If news breaks about a movie, you will know about it. If they post on social media, you will know about it and get sent the picture. If we are friends, our group chats will be filled with GIFs of them. Get used to it.

3. I will post about them on social media.

Every platform, everyday. There will be something related to my fandom on social media to let the world, and my Internet friends, know what is going on.

4. Don't judge me for dropping everything to see them.

I will spend $100 for a meet and greet. It is the price I am willing to pay to meet the person I fangirl over. Please don't tell me it is too much or that it is stupid because to me, it means a lot.

5. I have other interests.

This isn't the only thing in my life. I like other things, and I know about what is happening in the world. I am not sheltered or tied down to this one aspect of my life. It is a part of me, but not all of me.

6. I wish you would try to seem interested.

Not having a fellow fangirl to talk about things with is hard. If you are my friend, please seem a bit interested. I might talk about them too much, but I need someone to understand that and want to listen to me ramble.

7. I make friends when I go to events.

I love making other fangirl/fanboy friends at events. Movie premieres, meet and greets, CD signings — all kinds of people are there. I like to strike up a conversation with these people because they understand.

8. I get over emotional.

My favorite character died? He cut his hair? They chose him for that character? Just know if something bad happens, I will be in mourning for a while. This is normal.

9. I will wear fandom related clothing.

If you don't want to be seen with me, then it is your loss. I look good in an Avengers T-shirt.

10. I love being a fangirl.

I might get heat for it. I might get made fun of for it, but in the end, I love everything about it. I love my fandom, and I don't care who knows it.

11. I know you all have a fandom too.

We are all secretly obsessed with something. Today, we can follow our favorite celebrities and see every move they make. You might not be out and proud about what you are obsessed with, but you know, deep down, you secretly have one

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
