24 hours in a day is not enough time to do everything I want to do, especially amidst the busy college life. Here are 10 things that I love and hope to be able to spend more time on in the future!

1. Read.

I absolutely love to read. From a young age, it’s been one of my favorite past times. Now that text books are replacing my reading selections of former Nicholas Sparks novels, I find myself reading novels less and less.

2. Scrapbook.

I like to think of myself as somewhat creative, and who doesn’t love a great scrapbook full of memories!? If I had all the time in the world, I would make multiple scrapbooks, because they are truly valuable.

3. Cook.

I really wish I had more time for this one. Busy schedules don’t leave much time to spend cooking yummy recipes. I miss the good old days as a little kid, cooking and baking all day with no care in the world.

4. Shop.

There never seems like a good time to go on a shopping trip. Living in a small college town sometimes makes me forget that there’s bigger and better malls out there. These days, shopping trips feel somewhat rushed, because there’s always one more homework project to do.

5. Craft.

Thank you Alpha Chi Omega for bringing out the inner crafter in me, and I wish I could devote more time to it! I find so much relaxation and peace when I craft, and I would love to spend hours on Pinterest and find fun new things to paint.

6. Blog.

I love to write, and blogging is a great way to write and keep in touch with people. If I had more time, I would definitely start one.

7. Travel.

There’s life outside Muncie? I wish I had more time to visit friends at other schools and explore new places. Hopefully that will come after graduation. Until then, Muncie is going to have to do.

8. Watch movies.

There’s plenty of people who can sit and watch Netflix all day, but I am not one of them. I constantly have to be doing something, or else I don’t feel productive. If I had more time, I would re-watch the entire Gossip Girl series and find a new Netflix series to start.

9. Spend time with friends.

I am a very extraverted person by nature, so I instinctively get my energy from being around others. I wish I had more time to spend with my best friends and also get to know new people.

10. Work out.

If I had unlimited time in a day, I would spend half of it at the gym. I love the good vibes at a gym, and the feeling I get after working out is priceless.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
