And they're all good things.

10 Things That Happened To Me Last Week
http://www.gfi.com/blog/beware-breaking-news/

This past week a lot of things happened to me. While they're not really that big of a deal, I though I'd share them with you. I think it's important to hold on to the little things that make you smile.

1. "Me Before You" came out.

Dear Jojo Moyes,

You suck and I love you.

Love, Everyone

This book was hard enough to read, but the movie just killed me inside. I cried so much. I'm still recovering from it. It's been a long time since I've read a book for fun and this one was a perfect gateway to reading more for myself. It was a beautiful masterpiece and I highly recommend reading it and watching the movie.

2. "Insecure" by Shane

@Ashly from Buzzed I owe you my life for posting about this song on Facebook.

This song.

Oh. My. God.

I love this song so much, but if that wasn't enough for you, there's a music video too. Usually crazy white boy dancing freaks me out, but there's just something about Shane that makes you want to get up and dance. Even though the song is about being insecure, when I'm singing and dancing to it, I can't help but feel like bomb af.

You need to watch this video, though.

3. "Treat You Better" by Shawn Mendez

Shawn Mendez is like the cutest little child on the face of the planet. "Stitches" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" are my jams. This song is AMAZING and you should definitely give it a listen.

4. "Bacon (feat. Yy Dolla $ign)" by Nick Jonas

Y'all.

Nick Jonas is my man. Like the man. A song called bacon? Like what?I love Bacon. I love men. It's the perfect combination. This song is just like Jason Derülo's "Ridin' Solo." Nick's like "there's one thing I love more than being with you and that's being without you," and I'm like "YAAAAASSSSS."

You have to listen to this song and then you feel my feelings.

There's no music video, but you can buy it here.

5. CHARLIE PUTH

Charlie Puth was just being extra cute on twitter and I couldn't really handle it. He spent time with his mom, met Elmo, and was overall just super cute. I tweet him on the reg asking him where I need to sign up to marry him. Maybe one day he'll reply.

6. I interviewed someone.

I don't know if y'all know this, but I write for a little thing called Odyssey. They asked me to be a Community Recruiter and I gladly accepted. I interviewed people to be a part of my first community in Huntsville! It was so crazy to be on the other side of the interview process, but it was really fun.

7. I hired someone.

I also hired people! Me — I hired people! My experience with Odyssey just keeps getting better and better. I love working for a place that allows me to do all these cool things.

8. I got a gym membership. LOL.

The gym. Ugh. I hate that place, but I also love it. I'm on a mission to lose the weight I gained during my freshman year, and I'm on my way. It's going to be challenging because I love to eat and sleep, but I'm determined to go to the gym and eat green foods. Wish me luck!

9. I started summer classes.

Unfortunately, I'm taking classes this summer. It's gross and annoying, but because of this, I'll be able to do the things that I love in the fall. I'll be able to be in The Famous Maroon Band, be an RA, and not die from too many hours. It's a win, win, win.

10. I spent time with my mom

My mom and I had lunch, we went shopping, we saw Me Before You, and we made snap chat stories together. I love my mom so much. She's my best friend, and I'm so glad I got to spend part of my week with her.

All my love,

Shan

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
