It is hard to put into words the feeling you get standing among the tallest buildings that you have ever seen. To be swallowed by the lights, the cab drivers hollering curse words, and being among many who are taking it all in for the first time as well as yourself.

Learning the rhythms of NYC is about as easy as learning how to walk, terrifying at first, but with a few steps you're in business.

From figuring out the rules of the road which is- there are no rules- to knowing which subway will take you in the right direction, and finally, never hesitate, when in doubt just go. New York City is just about as amazing and breath taking as you see it portrayed in the movies.

While driving up to the city my best friend and I played Frank Sinatra and boy did it capture the essence perfectly. The buildings, the people, and the sounds all mixed into this one glorious picture of pizza, theater, and people. It was truly a mesmerizing experience and you start to feel like you can become anybody just by simply walking the streets.

Jay Z and Alicia Keys put it right when they sang, "New York, I think I'm going where dreams are made of, there's nothing you can't do, now you're in New York these streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you." Because, it's true. NYC is a place where dreams are made, discovered, and put into action. It's hard not to catch a buzz just by passing by Radio City Music Hall or by one of the many Broadway shows.

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.
