The Vibrancy of a Cultural Paragon

Who Is Shia LaBeouf?
Vulture

(Quiet, quiet...)

Can you see him? There he is, out of the corner of your eye, with blood on his face, lurking in the shadows, eating all of the bodies: “Actual cannibal, Shia LaBeouf.”

Please watch this, tab it, bookmark it, share it. It's fantastic.

“Strangling Superstar Shia LaBeouf” started young as an actor with the Disney Channel throwback "Even Stevens."

"Holes,"one of the first blockbuster movies he starred in, furthered his burgeoning career. His resume ranges from the Transformers action movies, to "Disturbia," a deep-seated thriller, and even classic adventure sagas like "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." See for yourself!

But what has made this man an Internet sensation?
What is this Shia LaBeouf phenomenon?

The man has been described as bizarre. And yes, he is. But he's more than just bizarre; he means business. His "biz" is art-- an innovative and dynamic art, centered upon his own personage.

News outlets and fans track his path with diligence, noting his cameos, his roles, his wardrobe, but most importantly his eclectic decision-making. The thing that is so fascinating about the man is his passionate unpredictability.

Locked in a cage, next to naked, he’s definitely got thick skin – he doesn’t hold back; he goes for it. His repertoire ranges from things like this: dancing with Sia in her music video for “Elastic Heart.”

Check him out on a different day and he’ll be dawning a rat-tail.

Shia LaBeouf is a man of action. He does things instead of sitting around and waiting for them to come to him. Sure, maybe a few of the turns in his career have been questionable, a little bold but he says it pretty clearly… Just do it.

“Just do it! Make your dreams come true!”

“Nothing is impossible!”

“What are you waiting for? Do it! Just do it! Yes, you can! Just do it!”

He’s viral, vivacious, and an eyesore for some. But his personage is more than just a mask or façade. He is practicing this active; take no prisoners, carpe diem, no shits given lifestyle. Call it what you may, but it is a life filled with action instead of regret. A course mapped out on decisions made instead of decisions prolonged or passed along to someone else.

Much of what he says or does can be funny, which is a part of his appeal. Going so ridiculous, it almost seems as if he knows that he has a new role to play for his fan base, and perhaps this has some validity. Nevertheless, the man has attained access to a huge margin of people through his absurdity, vigor, and passion. The current foundation for Shia’s future is extremely solid.

He’s more than just an actor; he’s an example of a human leveraging opportunity and circumstance to not only further his own ambition and career, but simultaneously motivate others and push some buttons on a few social norms.

He’s making moves. I don’t really know or fully understand the full extent of what this guy has done or is doing, but he’s definitely doing, and doing things differently from how many other celebrities are “celebrating” their success and livelihood.

Track his heartbeat – live.

Watch him watch his own movies.

Run a marathon with him.

A new form of artistry, a masterful intelligence pointed at creating content with a sharper edge and stylistic intrigue; this is Shia LaBeouf.

He’s just doing it.

At the end of the day, and the end of this article, I find myself wondering:

What am I doing? What could I be doing?

What will I be doing, if I believe in myself and give myself space to do these things and create or to “Shia-size” my life?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
