Top 5 Shows to Watch on Netflix

Excluding “Netflix and Chill” I am almost 100% certain that you have heard of Netflix, and all the wonderful shows and movies available through it. Some shows on Netflix have actually changed my life, and my perception of the world. So decided to compile a list of good shows to watch on Netflix.

1. Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries follows the character Elena, and how her life get turned completely upside down when she falls in love with a 170 year old vampire. Oh and did I mention her best friend is a witch? Vampire Diaries was actually the first show I had ever watched on Netflix, if you like a good show with modern mythology and teen drama than this is just the show for you. THE ROMANCES IN THIS SHOW WILL HAVE YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT AND/OR THROWING EVERYTHING YOU OWN AT THE TV. If you want to be on the edge of your seat, this is the show to watch!

2. Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl is a show about the lives of 6 high school students living in the upper east side of New York. Middle class, Dan Humprey, falls for (the perfect human being) Serena Van Der Woodsen who accidentally gets Dan and his sister Jenny entangled in the complicated and scandalous world of the upper east side. Don’t get me started on Serena’s best friend, Blair Waldorf, who is the defection of a sneaky-messy bitch.

3. Shameless

I actually have only recently started watching shameless so I can’t tell you much, but from all the people I have asked this show it is pretty damn fantastic. Let me give you a rundown.

The story of a young group of siblings pretty much abandoned by their parents, surviving by their wits - and humor - on a rough Manchester council estate. Anarchic family life seen through the eyes of an exceptionally bright fifteen year old, who struggles to come of age in the context of his belligerent father, closeted brother, psychotic sister and internet porn star neighbors.

4. Orange is the New Black

I actually never got into this show personally, but it is still a great show none the less. Touching on so many social and political issues, is a beautiful and hilarious manor. Orange is the New Black is the perfect show for anyone who loves good drama and a dark sense of humor.

5. Glee

GLEE BY FAR IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY FAVORITE SHOW EVER! Glee follows McKinley High’s glee club “The New Directions” and their trials and tribulations against the surprisingly hilarious and caring tyrant cheer coach Sue Sylvester. With all the hurdles the club had to go through on Sue’s behalf there were still PLEANTY of struggles within the club. One of the main themes of the show was accepting yourself and being who you are no matter what. This show helped my come to terms with my own sexuality because the lessons taught were so powerful. I 100 out of 10 would recommend the show glee.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
