“Callin’ It Quits” is Carverton’s captivating attempt to capture the feeling of “…cutting off deadweight”, says band member Kyle Yorlets. The song was a last minute addition to their upcoming EP recorded in the summer of last year.
“Callin’ It Quits” is an open letter to anyone that has caused any form of pain and mistrust in the band. The struggles that the band members were facing at the time was the straw that broke the camel’s back, as the saying goes.
The goal of the song is to help people channel the negative energy in their lives. Carverton wants the people listening to this song reflect on the deep emotion of this song, and see that “…life is fragile. Be careful who you trust it with”, says Kyle Yorlets. You really get a sense of what Carverton was feeling at the time from the lyrics.
If you like what you heard, go and listen more songs like “Hollywood”, which is a tease towards the insane amount of people doing everything in their power to become famous, and “Pretty Little Monster”, which is about the pleasure and pain of lust. Also, check out their Facebook page for more information on their tour to the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware.
