It's OK To Not Be OK
Sometimes life can get you down and it's totally okay.
Everyone encounters obstacles in their lives that makes it seem like the world is coming to an end. Frustration and sadness take a toll over you and it's like nothing will ever be okay again. Your body shuts down in a way to protect yourself from the outside world and you stare into the dark abyss of your bedroom walls. This is when you realize things aren't going well and you're not doing okay. You're not okay, but it's okay. It's okay to not be okay.
When I get this way, I feel as if I should be okay and there are others out there with far bigger problems than mine. I almost feel selfish for not being in a great mental state of mind when there are people out there who aren't as fortunate as I am to have things like a roof over their heads and a loving family. Everyone goes through a rough patch every once in awhile, so it's okay to be selfish about your problems and just break down if need be. There are so many causes of a well known sadness like stress from school or past events that consume you and make you feel like you're not okay. Don't be ashamed of yourself if you're not some happy positive person 24/7, no one is.
If you believe people can live a life full of nothing but happiness, think again. Those kinds of things only happen in the movies. Everyone has their equal amounts of good and bad days, but there are some people who have more bad than good. Just remember when you're not feeling the best, you're not alone. There are others who are feeling the same way, feeling like they're not okay. It's okay to not be okay because the sun will always breakthrough and shine, and so can you.
