OK, that paragraph may have sounded a little bratty, but that's what kids think. Whenever I grew up a little, different problems with my birthday arose.
In high school, I didn't enjoy my birthday either. My birthday is January 6th. That is right at the beginning of the second semester. If we started school by then, my birthday was almost the first day back, and no one remembered until they got to school. If we hadn't started school, no one remembered either. And let me tell you, being a hormonal teenage girl in high school if people didn't remember your birthday, it felt personal.
And now I am in college. Some colleges have a long winter break that wraps up in the middle of January. Not mine. My school starts that first week of January after New Years. This means that my birthday may fall on the first day back AGAIN. But lucky me, this year it falls on the day before the semester begins, which is a travel day for me. This year I get to spend my birthday on an airplane.
This is all coming from the deep heart of someone with a birthday right around Christmas. I know there are plenty of you out there in this boat with me. Some of you are even closer to Christmas than I am. Some are even ON Christmas. For those of you with this case, I just want you to know, we are praying for you. We are there if you need a hand to hold during this hard time. It can't be easy on you, we know. We just want you to know that we are here if you need someone to talk to. We can get through this season together.

Finals week be like...
GiphyIt is a struggle to get through finals week without breaking. The way that this bubble will not blow up represents finals week never going the way you have hoped it would go.

GiphyHave you ever had such a bad day where you just hate everyone around you? I have those days all the time, mainly when I'm in a bad mood, or if I didn't get very much sleep the night before.
Every day seems the same.
GiphyBeing an adult means you do basically the same things every day with no change: wake up, work, dinner, sleep and repeat the next day. I didn't think this feeling would start until after I was out of college, but I was very wrong. I do basically the same thing every day: wake up, go to classes, do homework, eat dinner, do more homework, take a shower and then go to sleep.
You even pick up his moves.
GiphyIf I am ever alone and have nothing to do, I will blast my music and start dancing like crazy. This is one of the best ways to relieve the stress built up inside of you.
When someone tries to have a serious conversation at night after a long day...
GiphyIf I had a long day of work and classes, all I want to do is go home and go to sleep. Some people don't understand that and try to talk to have a serious conversation.
When you hear your alarm go off in the morning...
GiphyThere is nothing worse than being woken up by your alarm. This is the worst reminder that you have to wake up and go to class or work.
When your co-workers are in a good mood at work, but you wish you were in bed.
GiphyMost of the time while I am at work, I would wish that I was cuddled up in bed watching Netflix. Then there are those few co-workers who are laughing and having a great time.
When payday comes around.
GiphyI would work several hours every week, including opening at 5:30 a.m.. When I finally get my paycheck, I realize that all those long hours were worth it, at least until the next work week starts.
Saying "goodbye" to campus for a whole month for winter break is the best feeling.
GiphyWho doesn't love winter break? It is a whole month off of school, and being near your hometown friends. You can't ask for anything better.
1. You barely know who you live with
Freshman year, you get this idea that your roommates are going to become your best friends. By year 3, you've already established who your friends are and so you barely get to know your roommates.
2. The noise
Have you ever wanted to go to bed early?
Like around 9 or 10 o'clock?
Don't even bother trying because at most dorms there is so much noise that even if you do get to sleep — you'll be awake in a few hours from either the sound of a group of people loudly talking outside your window or your roommate talking on the phone because the walls are paper thin.
3. Roommate agreements
Roommate agreements get old fast. Year one, you really think and contemplate your answers. Year three, just don't disrespect me and we will be cool.
4. Fire safety meeting/drill
This is another one that gets old fast. Fire safety meetings are the exact same every year. We get it, don't smoke or light candles in the dorms.
5. The air conditioning
I have never lived in a dorm that had an air conditioning that worked well 100 percent of the time. In South Carolina, it is hot for most of the year and when a dorm air conditioning is set on 60, you'd be lucky if the room temperature gets down to 80.
Even though this might seem like a lot to hate about the dorms, I actually really like living in them. They definitely have pros and cons, but I guess you can gauge my overall opinion from the fact that I still live in them.

Here are some of the most common things I've heard since I decided to grow my hair out.
"Are you growing your hair out?"
Nope, I love this length. "Frat boy" is the aesthetic I've been aiming for!
*hair grows a little* "Wow, your hair has gotten so long!"
Has it? Has it, really?
"At least you're pretty!"
That doesn't make me any happier about this mop, but thanks. I guess.
"Why don't you just cut it?"
I don't look like this by choice, but no. I'm not gonna cut it.
"Short hair must be so much easier to style!"
Yeah! If you think that pomade, straightening, hairspray, and only being able to shower in the morning is "easy".
"Your eyebrows look really good!"
They're front and center, so believe me–I know they look good. They better.
"I like your hair better long."
Good thing I'm growing it out, then.
"You look like a lesbian now."
Hair length is synonymous with sexual orientation, so... Yeah. I get that.
