Your Boyfriend Cheated On You... Now What?
Should you stay or should you go?
You just found out your boyfriend cheated on you. No matter if it was a physical affair or an emotional affair, it hurts. You battle with yourself, "Should I give him a second chance?" "Should I leave him?" "What if someone else can treat me better?"
You'll run through all the possibilities in your head. But at the end of the day, no one can make that decision for you.
If you stay with him....
Staying with him means 1 of 2 things will happen.
1. He will learn his lesson and treat you better than before. If he sees how hurt you are and he really loves you and wants a life with you, he will learn from his mistakes. He will treat you better than you could imagine and never do anything that would jeopardize your relationship again.
2. He won't learn from his mistakes and will continue to hurt you. The phrase "once a cheater always a cheater" proves this point. Because, most of the time, boys are the ones who cheat, they won't learn from their mistakes. Keyword: boys.
If you decide to leave him...
1. You may find someone better. You may find someone who treats you way better than the one who cheated on you. He may be better than you could imagine.
2. You may find someone and be hurt again. The next person you find yourself with may be toxic or may be a cheater too. You would think that if you let people know you were just cheated on they'd give you a little bit of sympathy and not hurt you, but I promise you... that's not always true.
Whatever you chose, there's no right or wrong answer. Only you have to live with your decision. Some people get back with those who cheat on them and that's OK. Some people leave the ones that cheat on them and that's OK, too.
