Christmas In London: A Christmas Wedding Part 5
A new year, A new marriage and a new chapter!
Greyson and Kennedy had had their dream wedding, even with all the craziness beforehand, they couldn't have been happier with their special day. They were going to go on a honeymoon, but since they had family in town still, they had planned it to be after their families had left. Their parent had surprised them with a small family getaway to a cabin up north for the new year and as a wedding present for them.
Greyson and Kennedy still couldn't believe that they were married. So much had led up to the actual wedding, it was so nice for them that it had finally happened. When they were driving up to the cabin, Greyson had his arm around Kennedy and she was staring out the window watching the snow-covered trees pass by in a blur. She was so happy to have married her best friend. She never would have thought that she would have to go halfway across the world to find her true love. Yet she had and she was so thankful, even after all those years of friends in relationships, friend's weddings, engagement parties and then baby showers. She had started to doubt that it was ever going to happen for her, but now here she was with her family and her husband, going to celebrate their wedding and the new year together.
Greyson watched Kennedy as she stared out the window at the trees and the smile could not be wiped off his face. Every day he was still amazed that he was able to find such an amazing girl to be his wife. He never thought that he would go halfway across the world to find the love of his life. Let alone they would both be from the states, it truly showed him that taking chances are so important in life. At the time, he never would have guessed that the girl who's hot chocolate he spilled would end up becoming his wife.
Both sets of parents were silently watching their kids, the look of Kennedy's face as she reflected out the window before putting her head on Greyson's shoulder and then Greyson staring at Kennedy with so much love in his eyes. All of them were so happy that their kids had found their person and would be truly happy with each other. That's all a parent could ever wish for, the person who they know will take care of their child and treat them well. I mean isn't that all anyone could ask for.
When they finally reached the cabin Kennedy and Greyson's parents were all "exhausted" (They wanted to give the newlyweds some alone time), so they went upstairs and called it an early night. Greyson and Kennedy, on the other hand, lit a fire and snuggled up together on the couch. After they had been sitting there for a while just talking about the past few days, Greyson got up and offered Kennedy a hand. "Let's go outside real quick, I have a present for you." He said, as she wrapped the blanket around her and they shuffled out into the snow.
From behind his back, Greyson pulled out a lighter and some sparklers. "Happy Almost New Year and Cheers to a new chapter that we get to write together!" "Oh Greyson, I love them! Sparklers have always been one of my favorite things, they are so beautiful." They spent a good while playing with them and drawing different things in the air.
"It's the last one," Kennedy said, "I want you to light it." "Are you sure?" Greyson asked. "Yeah!" Greyson lit the last sparkler while Kennedy looked on. He turned his head and smiled at her and Kennedy couldn't help but be filled with joy and wonder. Greyson beckoned her over and they stood there together in the snow, in front of a beautiful old cabin watching the last sparkler give its last sparks. As the stars shone brightly in the clear sky above the mountain, they looked at each other and all the love they had for each other shown brighter than the stars above them. Greyson kissed her and pulled her close to them as they looked out over the mountain town below them and on into the future they were about to start together.
