Stop Searching...

For the guy who broke you, for the girl you use to be, for the answers you seek

Quit seeking out the guy

You thought that you loved.

The bad guy, the liar,

The too good to be true.

Remember?

He's the one who taught you

To stand up, be you.

He loved you, I'm sure

But he let you fall down

He didn't catch you,

Watched you drown.

You cried for a while,

Stood up,

Shook off,

Kept walking and talking,

Like nothing was off.

You know you shouldn't search,

You know you shouldn't look,

But one day you keep hoping,

He'll come save you

Like the books.

He may return for a while,

But only to see what he missed.

He'll leave you like he came,

Don't play this game.

He may not return,

But from this experience you'll learn

You're stronger now broken

Than you were here before.

Stop searching for her,

The girl you once knew.

Is she hidden?

Is she you?

You changed a little,

Lost yourself in a storm

Don't worry, my girl

It'll all be reborn.

Don't search for specifics,

Don't look for a list,

You'll find yourself

Among the abyss.

You threw yourself out there,

The world seemed to consume,

Don't worry, my girl

One day you'll find your muse.

Don't search for the lost,

You'll create some untrue,

Just be who you are,

Live like it's true.

You may not know,

You may be confused

But like baby steps,

It takes a few.

You'll find yourself again,

Don't look too hard.

It's still you in the mirror,

You're not that far.

You're looking for answers,

Looking for plain,

But they aren't here,

They're not in this frame.

The world claims to have answers,

Ignore them

For me.

They're all wrong,

Only tell you what they see.

The answers aren't clear,

It's not easy to see

But look to the Heavens,

He'll answer your plea.

Don't look for the facts

In the wrong places and things,

The world has no truth

For you and for me.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
