what should have been a happy ending
turns out to be a statistical impossibility
this relationship gone with the wind like dust
losing its very existence within us
as if it shouldn't be something worth mentioning
you wore my heart on your sleeve
just like how yours was on mine
you and I were magnetic
the pull between us was undeniable as ever
somewhere along the way
we were both victims of human nature
we lost the race against time
we were just licking each other's wounds
but now I just want you to know that
what we had was a great love
even though it wasn't a right love
