To The Person Having A Rough Time: Life Comes In Seasons

I'm a firm believer in life having seasons. Just as we experience fall, winter, spring, and summer we experience success, trials, opposition, and so on. We have good seasons in life and we have tough seasons in our life. This one is for the person going through a rough season.

The beauty in seasons is that life goes on and the season will change. Always. It can't be sunny and hot 365 days a year, just like it can't be cold and snowy all year round. Whatever you're facing now, is preparing you to take on the next season of your life.

Sometimes we get in the season of our life where we are faced with a lot of opposition and defeat. In these times—when I know it's so hard to do— you have to see your opposition as opportunity. I mean they do say nothing in life comes easy.

Whenever you aren't sure about what you're doing or you may even be getting a lot of backlash from others, you very well could be exactly where you need to be. From trials, we learn lessons and from lessons, we gain experience. Whatever is pushing against you is pushing you towards the next season of your life! It sucks, it hurts, and it feels never-ending but it will and you will get through it. Don't be discouraged by a challenge that you weren't expecting! Figure out and control what you can and the rest will follow.

Whatever you are facing, whether it be something you chose to be apart of or a new event that seems as if it ran your life off the track you had planned, face with grace and remember that it is just a season passing by. Take all you can from your hard times and be extra thankful for your good ones!

It is easier said than done but, hey. You have made it this far and you can (and will) make it even farther.

When you're running out of hope and feeling like whatever you are experiencing will never end, just remember that like winter ends so that flowers can spring, you'll get through it beautifully.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
