College can bring some interesting people to your life. Here are some of the 10 people you'll meet:

1. Your Roommate

Love them or hate them, you're going to be spending A LOT of time together. And if you get along you'll do some weird stuff in front of each other, because let's face it — college is hard and we all need to just let loose sometimes. Whether you need a good laugh or cry, this person will be there for you. They will also be there for late night food runs or pizza delivery (which is really important)

2. The Unofficial Roommate

This is the person that probably spends more time in your room than you do. You can always find their belongings in the room, and there no boundaries on who really owns that hairbrush (and they're eating all of your food).

3. The Jock

This guy can always be found at the gym, on any sports field, or running through campus. Usually in athletic clothes, and always sporting his team apparel.

4.

The Selfie/Insta Queen

This girl can most likely be found trying to find the best selfie lighting on campus. You've all seen her Instagram, and have wondered how to master the selfie like her.

5. The one that takes Intramurals Too Seriously

Every campus has the guy who takes intramurals too seriously. Most likely a former athlete, or wasn't good enough for the actual team so he brought his "talents" to the game thats all for fun.

6. The Over Achiever

This one can be found at any club meeting on campus — probably leading it. Always in the library, always has the answers in class. You hate this person, but wish you had half of their motivation to study and build your resume.

7.The Fraternity Guy

President of his fraternity, this guy can be found on campus proudly wearing his letters and recruiting new members. Most likely to be found with a beer or two in hand.

8. The Drunk Girl

Always down for a good time. Most likely to compliment you in the bathroom of a bar or fraternity party. She's probably known as a hot-mess on campus, but hey we have all been there.

9. The Overly School Spirited

Most likely found wearing the bookstores latest school mascot imprinted tee, on the sidelines of any and every game cheering loud and proud for their beloved *insert your school mascot here*

10. The Complainer

There will always be that one person who complains about everything the school does. The food, wi-fi, class schedules, grades, students, professors, anything and everything. This person will try to convince you your school is the worst place ever.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
