It's That Time Of Year Again Because Fall Is In The Air

Have you ever been called a "white girl" for the type of drink you like? Yes — it's that time of year when you can buy Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Without holidays, I don't think corporations like Starbucks or Caribou could survive without us. We thrive on the waiting period for certain holiday drinks.

In some states, like North Dakota, we are privileged because we get all four seasons in one year. Fall is such a great time of year. I don't think about the negatives like it's short and once fall comes then winter is around the corner; but rather, I focus more on the positive notes of why fall is so great.

I love when the trees turn different colors and let's not forget our favorite past time of jumping in a pile of leaves when we were younger. Another thing I like about fall is sweater weather. It's that type of year where you can feel a crisp in the air which means we can get our cute and fashionable sweaters. Did I mention this means boots as well?

Everything changes when fall is around from colors to candle scents. Fall is a great time for new beginnings and to remember old memories. One of my favorite memories is going to the pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins to carve for Halloween.

Decorating for fall is so festive. There are so many different types of decorations — it's so overwhelming what to choose. There are pumpkins, scarecrows, trucks delivering pumpkins to places. A lot of different food can symbolize fall, as well, that we only get once a year. One example is candy corn. Some people think this candy is the best. Its one of those candies that are a heated topic because some people either love it or hate it. Everything is warm and inviting.

All in all, fall is a wonderful time of year.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

20211
bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

5040
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
