8 Drinks Every College Student Needs To Have Ready If They Want To Survive Their College Experience

Whether sipped near a warm hearth, snuggled up in wool blankets or guzzled via a funnel, we all have our favorite drinks out there. Some wake us up, others help us go to sleep; some of them help us feel wild and free and others are there just to help us get up and stay awake the morning after a game day. Here are just some of the drinks that you simply can't manage the entirety of the college experience without.

1. EmergenC

Giphy

Tangerine, raspberry--whatever flavor it may be, get it now! Drink it up, because you are back on campus and that means SICKNESS. It's two weeks in and I am already getting sick; it's "already going around." Consume that Vitamin C, baby! You'll thank me later, because being sick on game day is the last thing anyone wants.

2. Throat Coat Tea

Giphy

Can't speak? Painful every time you swallow? Put your big kid pants on and drink some Throat Coat. As a former choral singer, I attest to this remedy. It is not the best flavor in the world, but, with a dash of honey, you can get it to go down. It will feel like heaven and will help exponentially. You need it more than you'll ever know.

3. Green Tea

Giphy

Little tired? Does coffee make you jittery? Shoot for some green tea. A small pick-me-up with good flavors. I prefer mint or lemon; it's a wonderful add into any chilly fall day. Plus, green tea brings you those good benefits health-wise, so...you might as well. I like to pretend green tea fixes all my problems, even if it really doesn't.

4. Hot Cocoa

Giphy

Gamedays may be hot right now, but give it a few and the midwest will show you who's boss. Hot chocolate is that cute little drink that's oh-so versatile. You can spice your pregame up by adding some minty flavored things (a wink, wink), if you are of the age, of course (a college wink, wink).

5. Coffee

Giphy

The nectar of the gods that propels us all on our day. It makes us alert and focused--or so we propose it does. Plus, if you have this on hand, it should hinder your spending on Starbs and 'Bou and any of the other five million other campus places where you can get coffee. 2 a.m. study seshes during midterms and finals call for AT LEAST a couple cups of coffee, don't fool yourself. If you aren't into it now, just you wait: I'm living proof of that statement.

6. Energy Drinks

Giphy

For that BANG of energy you need, when you can't handle another cup of coffee. This will electrify your soul and get you moving. 12 page paper due? Done, five minutes, tops. It gives you wings, rage and the ability to do things SUPER SPEEDY. Whatever you want to call it, sometimes that heart-racing resurgence is the pep talk you needed.

7. LaCroix

Giphy

Love it or hate it, you will eventually start to drink it. It's a college thing; you are never too cool for a cool LaCroix. The perfect mixie that is also hydrating and won't run you on a sugar high. 10/10 would recommend keeping a few these babies cold in your fridge.

8. Water

Giphy

Yes, plain 'ol water. You need this to hydrate your life. Stop living off of only Hamms and drink some water, fool. You need this to be healthy. So, hydrate or die-drate, my dudes. Get on the H2O train and drink it till you can't drink no more.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

Yes, the math major is doing a math-related post. What are the odds? I'll have to calculate it later. Many people have probably learned about the Fibonacci sequence in their high school math classes. However, I thought I would just refresh everyone's memories and show how math can be beautiful and apply to physical things everywhere around us with stunning examples.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
