Conspiracies that Will Ruin Your Childhood

What were we really watching?

Everyone remembers their childhood. While our parents would look forward to watching Looney Tunes with simple animal characters facing obvious debacles, for example, the constant game of cat and mouse between Tom and Jerry, or the wabbit hunting Elmer Fudge and the witty Bugs Bunny, our generation was exposed to a wackier animated television scene.

Warning: Some of the conspiracy theories below may cause a disrupt in your views of your favorite cartoon characters, but just entertain these thoughts:

Winnie the Pooh

Did we ever stop to think that maybe Christopher Robbins was hanging out with the wrong crowd? Take Tigger for example, he was never able to focus on one task at a time. Perhaps he had an undiagnosed case of ADHD and was badly in need of an Adderall prescription. And Piglet, the little pink dude is ALWAYS worried about something. I believe perhaps he had a case of generalized anxiety disorder that went unnoticed by his best friend, Winnie the Pooh, who was terribly addicted to honey. Eeyore's problem is a little bit more obvious. He's clinically depressed.

Ed, Edd, n Eddy

This theory is a little bit more interesting. It suggests that all of the Ed, Edd, n Eddy characters are living in a state of limbo or purgatory. Movie Pilot suggests that the characters all died during a different time period, accounting for their different clothing styles, accents, and dialects. This is also a purgatory just for dead children, which is why there are no evident adults in the television show. I guess it makes sense that the most advanced toy in the 1920s would be a piece of wood.

Rugrats

Pretty odd that her name is Angel-ica when she is clearly a demon. This theory explained more in depth on the blog Creepy Pasta, suggests that Angelica actually had schizophrenia and created the gang of "dumb babies" which are just a figment of her imagination. According to the theory, Chuckie died when his mother died, which is why his dad, Chaz, is in such a frequent mood of panic and nervousness. Tommy, the theory suggests, was a stillborn and that is why his father, Stu, has an obsession with building toys in his basement... think about it, why doesn't Tommy ever play with any of the toys his dad creates?? This theory also suggests that the Devilles had an abortion, which is why the twins were created because Angelica did not know whether or not they were expecting a baby boy or baby girl. This is definitely a theory for speculation. Perhaps her inner demons are why she is such a bully to her imaginary friends.

Courage the Cowardly Dog

This is yet another theory worth speculating. What if Courage isn't seeing monsters, but instead is just seeing people? Most of the monsters have human-like physical characteristics. One must also consider the fact that he lives on a farm, in the middle of nowhere with two elderly people that spend most of their day rocking in a rocking chair. The website Cracked explains that due to his folks' sedentary lifestyle, and Eustace clearly hates poor Courage, he does not get out much and has little exposure to other animals and people. This is why when he sees one, he goes into a mode of panic. Picture Courage as that scared, shivering, little yappy dog that gets too excited every time the UPS man needs someone to sign for a package.

I hope you will ponder these theories, and also sorry if I ruined your childhood.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
